Sigurgeir Tryggvason
2012-2013 Arion bank, Risk Management, Credit Analysis Specialist:
Development of risk analysis and merit system for loan applications and the development and maintenance of quantitative and qualitative models to assess credit.
2009-2011 Nordural ehf, subsidiary of Century Aluminum, Project Finance Manager:
Responsible for project debt financing for the first phase of 360 ktpy aluminium smelter in Iceland. The debt was to be sourced from the international bank debt market, Export Credit Agencies and domestic sources

Resolution Committee, Specialist: Management and winding down of $5 billion of assets in debt instruments and equity.
Investment Banking, Director: Analysis and decision making on several projects in the IPP and “clean tech” space.

dr. Haraldur Óskar Haraldsson
He was a derivatives trader (2005-2007) in the Treasury Department at Kaupthing Bank, trading derivatives and creating index linked structured products.
In 2009, Oskar co-founded Summa ehf. a consultant company, specializing in valuations, risk management and analytical services. Óskar was an assistant professor in financial engineering at Reykjavik University from 2005-2013, teaching courses in e.g. risk management, treasury management and investments.
dr. Hrafnkell Kárason
Hrafnkell received his Ph.D. in Geophysics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2002. During his studies he focused on theoretical and numerical seismology, inverse theory, applied mathematics, geodynamics along with some finance theory. His doctoral thesis was on three-dimensional seismic imaging and flow-modeling. He also holds a C.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iceland.
In 2002, he joined the Kaupthing Bank’s Risk Management division. He started within Research and Development and headed that division from 2005. In 2006, he became the Head of Group Risk Management and concurrently Head of Credit Risk in 2008. He headed Credit Risk Management in Arion Bank until he became a founding partner of Summa, an independent consultancy, in March 2009.
Hrafnkell has practical experience with various aspects of Risk Management, e.g. data, modelling, processes, risk analysis and risk reporting. Recent projects include various types of modelling and analysis, liquidity and risk management frameworks, formulation of risk appetite statements, valuation of complex and illiquid financial instruments such as derivatives and distressed loan portfolios and more.
Hrafnkell has taught courses on Risk Management within the Financial Engineering Department at Reykjavík University.
Ómar Tryggvason
Ómar was a specialist at the Monetary Department of the Central Bank of Iceland from 1995-1997.
From 1997 to 2000, he was the Head of Treasury and Proprietary Trading at Íslandsbanki. In his role, he was responsible for proprietary trading and all treasury related activities of the bank apart from foreign funding.
He joined the Asset Management division of Kaupthing Bank in 2001, as the Fund Manager of Frjálsi Pension Fund and took on other pension fund mandates between 2001 and 2003. Between 2003 and 2009, he served as the Head of Alternative Investments. During that period, Alternative Investments grew from 3 bn. ISK to over 150 bn. ISK of AuM, mostly in hedge funds, private equity, structured asset management products and other funds. From 2008 to 2009, he also served as the Head of Fund Management with a total of 250 bn. ISK AuM, including traditional equity and fixed income funds.
Ómar ran his own consulting company between 2010 and 2013.
Ómar holds a B.Sc. in Finance from University of South Carolina.
Styrmir Guðmundsson
In 2007 he began working at Straumur Investment bank again as SVP within Capital Markets for institutional clients performing similar roles as at Íslandsbanki.
From 2009-2010 Styrmir ran a levered fixed income book for a private party before establishing a small asset management boutique along with two partners. During this time Styrmir participated in managing and presenting various funds run by Jupiter as well as running a very successful hedge fund within the domestic market.
In 2015 Styrmir started as a fund manager within Summa Asset Management where he currently runs an ISK macro fund.
Styrmir holds a degree in economics from Copenhagen Business School and a Business degree from the University of Iceland
