Þórunn Helga Þórðardóttir
Þórunn Helga Þórðardóttir graduated with a master’s degree from Reykjavik University’s Faculty of Law in January 2010 and received the right to plead before the District Court in 2012. Þórunn also graduated with an LL.M degree from Columbia University in the spring of 2013. Þórunn is an independent chairman of the board and was first elected as a board member in 2016.

 

Bjarni Karl Guðlaugsson
Bjarni Karl Guðlaugsson graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in finance and auditing in 1996 and worked in auditing and consulting at KPMG in New York. Bjarni started working at Búnaðarbankinn in 2000 and later worked at Kaupþing and Stefnir Asset Management, mainly managing foreign investment funds. Since 2017, Bjarni has carried out various consulting projects and also worked as a tourist guide. Bjarni Karl was elected to Summa’s board in May 2020.

 

Júlíus Jón Jónsson
Júlíus Jón Jónsson retired after 40 years at HS Veitur and its predecessors in 2022. Júlíus holds a business degree from the University of Iceland and joined Hitaveita Suðurnesja (an Icelandic energy company) as finance director in 1982 and became the company’s CEO 10 years later. In 2008, Hitaveita Suðurnesja was split into two companies, HS Orka and HS Veitur, and Júlíus Jón was CEO of both companies until the end of 2013. He was then CEO of HS Veitur from the beginning of 2014 until he retired. Júlíus was elected to Summa’s board in May 2022.
